Are there restrictions for me during IVF treatment?
There are few restrictions placed on women undergoing IVF treatment and most women are able to continue with their daily life during treatment.
Physical Activity - Avoid all strenuous activity that involves lifting heavy objects, certain exercises such as aerobics, running and weight lifting during ovarian stimulation.
Medication - If you are taking any medications, it is important that you inform your fertility doctor because some medications can interfere with the prescribed fertility drugs, ovulation or embryo implantation during your IVF cycle.
Alcohol and Tobacco - Just as smoking and drinking are prohibited or limited for all pregnant women, it is the same for women undergoing in vitro fertilization. Even if you are not pregnant, it is important that you do not consume any alcohol from the time you start taking your fertility drugs up until your pregnancy test and after, if your IVF cycle is successful.
