There are many reasons IVf treatments are unsuccessful initially. The combination of fertility drugs prescribed may be unsuitable, the collected sperm may not fertilize the egg and sperm donation or ICSI will be needed, or the transferred embryo may not impant into the uterus. Additional fertility tests, such as a biopsy of the uterine lining can help identify why your IVF cycle was unsuccessful.
Infertility treatment can be a difficult process for couples and therapy is highly recommended, because the anticipation of results and the entire process can be very stressful. Unsuccessful IVF treatment that does not result in pregnancy can be traumatic and couples should prepare for the possibility that in vitro fertilization attempts may not be successful.
If you have undergone several IVF cycles and are ready to give up, you may consider Gestational Surrogacy, which is when a surrogate mother carries your baby for you. You may either use your own eggs and your partner’s sperm or you can opt for egg and sperm donation, from which point the fertilized embryo will be transferred into the surrogate mother’s uterus. If you are interested in Surrogacy, contact us so that we can refer you to one of our other fertility tourism destinations that offer Surrogacy. Other Questions
